I thought this chart of reading the Ladder of Divine Ascent might be helpful during our Lenten Journey.

Father Jim:

Christ is in our midst!! He is and always will be!!!

Thanks so much for this chart. Sometimes a book can seem like a lot to get through unless it's broken up into short sections. I have a "Bible in a year" schedule and a "Catholic Catechism" in a year. This will be a welcome addition to my collection.

Asking for your blessing and your holy prayers during the Great Fast,

BOB

Glory to Jesus Christ!
Yes, thank you for the post.
I thought the words from our Golden Mouth Father, in just those few words, said it all.

Bless, Father Jim!

Normally, whenever I asked for these kind of instructions, people would tell me to "go to El." \:\)

Thank you for sharing this chart.

It's a good time to bring this back to the top of the topic list.

I am interested in this schedule for reading the Ladder of St. John the Climax.

Could any soul share to me from where is inspired this schedule?

Also, I would need a suggestion in a schedule for reading the Holy Scriptures. A link with free resources about this matter.

Thank you much.

Marian:

I don't know where Father Jim found this. I suspect it is from a monastic source.

As for Scripture during Great Lent, the Orthodox Church's daily readings are a great source for daily reading. I used to have them but have lost the daily portions that are assigned. I remember the selections coming from Genesis and from Isaiah. Maybe one of our priests here could list them.

In Christ,

BOB

Has anyone a link to the (downloadable) text for "The Ladder of Divine Ascent"?

I can't find it anywhere on the web, and presumed several of its translations to be both available and free of copyright.
