I was listening to a CD of Resurrection Matins in Carpatho-Rusyn plainchant yesterday, performed by the Schola Cantorum of St. Peter, J. Michael Thompson director, and produced by St. Andrew's Church, Mentor-on-Lake, OH. It was recorded sometime before Met. Judson died, since he was commemorated in the litanies, but I was unable to find a date anywhere on the CD cover or liner notes. I usually listen to it once or twice during the Paschal season and this was my first time this season.

Now to the point, when I first got this CD years ago, I was surprised that the Paschal troparion was different, ie. the way it is sung now in the RDL pew book. Not a bad thing I thought then, as it brought in more in line with the Orthodox translation. However, while listening to it in the car yesterday, I was amazed to hear "for our spiritual guides and all our brothers and sisters in Christ" in the augmented litany after lauds, and at least one instance of mankind replaced by "us all." I want to replay it when I have time to listen carefully. But quite obviously language changes were already in the works and in place when this was recorded back then, as I said before Met. Judson died, and I never caught on or listened quite carefully enough till now. Also, I seem to recall wording changes in the Hypakoje and Exapostilarion.

Does anyone else have this CD and have you listened closely to it? I believe that it's posted on the MCI website for anyone interested in listening to it.
