Thanks for the info on St. Joseph's in Yorkville. As it turns out, I attended a wedding there about 50 years ago. It was a nice Church.

Yes, it was a nice church. I don't think I've been in it since the wedding all those years ago, so I haven't a notion what the interior looks like at the moment.

As explained by Bishop Sullivan, auxiliary of the Archdiocese of New York, St. Joseph's parish originally catered to German immigrants but, presently, it is now a multi-ethnic parish.
Toggle down to the 10th video in the list, "Ecumenical Service," to catch some glimpses of the Church's interior:

During the introduction of the representatives of Christian Churches and ecclesial communities in attendance, the first called was Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America followed by the 2 represntatives of the Armenian Orthodox Church in the U.S.
Then came the introduction of the various Protestant denominations: Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopal, Baptist, Evangelical, Pentecostal, etc.
I did not see nor hear Metropolitan Herman of the OCA being introduced or any of his legates.
Did you?

Thanks for this site, Amado...I had missed so many of the 'live' moments of the Pope's visit, and now I can see them!

I was confused for a moment when they introduced a second Armenian bishop; but then they said that he (Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, I guess it was?) is president of the NCC. I guess that's why.
I guess the basic concept of the ordering was: EO, OO, NCC, then the various Protestant groups.
The other interesting thing I noticed was that the Lutheran bishop was at the end of the Protestants representatives (right after the Pentecostals, as I recall), and he was from the Missouri Synod, not the ELCA.
Blessings, Peter.

Peter, I am not 100% sure, but I believe that the MSLC does NOT use episcopal governance structures and as such do not have men titled "bishop"... Maybe he was ELCA? Maybe it was a snag in his introduction?

The ELCA's representative was the first to be introduced among the Protestants. The representative of the LCMS was introduced later.

Abp. Demetrios, the Primate of the GOA, bowed to the Pope while the Armenian Archbishop first called (or was it the second Armenian bishop?) kissed the ring of the Pope.
Among the Protestants, the representative of the Methodists also kissed the Pope's ring!
Strange?
