I've read in various publications (usually decades old) that, in Greece, every parish (even the smallest ones) has daily Matins and Vespers. I also read that even small parishes had quite extensive charitable programs.

Is this still true of Greece and the other Orthodox countries in the Balkans? Or has this passed into history?
