"Forum" readers with roots in the Leigh Valley of Pennsylvania should take special interest in the recently published 100th Anniversary history of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Allentown. Founded by Rusyns in 1907, it is the mother church of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (1911) and St. John's/Protection of the Virgin Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church (1940). St. Michael's is preceded in age in the Valley by Holy Trinity (OCA) in Catasauqua (1899) and St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic (1900) in Northampton PA. The history has some wonderful old photos. Well done!

Yes a very comprehensive history was published in a very attractive hard-bound book which just appeared. It rivaled the one published by St. John's in Minneapolis! The parish has a website, altho the actual centennial occurred in November 2007.

Lance,
The website itself is very nice, although it has the maddening feature - not often encountered these days (thankfully) - of opening every single page in a separate window. No back button usage here, you'll quickly find yourself with an array of tabs across the bottom of your screen.
Many years,
Neil
