Dear all:

I would like to ask the following questions about the UOC-KP and UAOC

1) Is it true that many of the priests and bishops who founded the UAOC / UOC-KP were originally born Greek Catholics? I remember reading references to the 2nd Patriarch of the UAOC and, later, the UAOC's rival to Patriarch Filaret, as having been born as Greek Catholics. Apparently, many Moscow Patriarchate hierarchs in Ukraine during the 1960's and 1970's were also former GC's. I'd like to have more details, esp. why they never reverted to the UGCC after 1990.

2) Is it true that the UOC-KP is constructing a sort of "alternative" World Orthodoxy, given its communion with the Bulgarian Alternative Synod, Macedonian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church of Italy? Is there really such a policy, or not? The UAOC, on the other hand, has the "Russian True Orthodox Church (Metropolitan Vyacheslav)" under its wing.

3) What other churches are the UAOC and the UOC-KP in communion with?

4) Last but most importantly: why did the UAOC split in 1995?
