As the August 6 opening of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing draws near, the Chinese government, through the "official" Chinese Catholic Church (CPA), has divulged that it has been recruiting "foreign priests" to help celebrate Masses for athletes and tourists for the duration of the games. A realization by the Chinese government of the "universality" of the Catholic Church and that the freedom to worship is a guaranteed right in other civilized nations of the world?
