I came across this by accident while looking for the NewsLink section on EWTN's site; infact, I didn't even see it or click on it, but it seems that God clicked on it for me--because I was reading the news and hearing the sermon at the same time, not knowing where it was coming from!!

I took this as a message, so going back I found the link for us to click on...They are very short and wonderful-- in Father Benedict's inimmitable and charismatic style. Enjoy and may God bless and have mercy on us all as we journey to Pascha *together* this year--Orthodox and Catholics!

Another worthwhile daily meditation on the Lives of the Saints may be found at ACROD's website, with both Old and New Calendar versions. http://www.acrod.org/news/releases/daily-lives-saints

Thanks, I like the look of this lovely website and of this podcast on the saints, though, personally, I prefer to read about the saints...
It will probably be a good thing for youth (who this site is to be lauded in trying to appeal to), and also those who don't like reading in general.

However, the link (daily Lenten meditation) which I provided above was not about the saints--atleast not today's which was the first that I heard; it was a pericope from Scripture shared in a way which I found most engaging--in that it included Father Benedict's usual dose of New York city ethnic humour (being a born and raised NYC girl myself)...

I do not think that Catholics and Orthodox should be competing. When I find something worthwhile which can speak to the soul spiritually, it does not matter to me from what source it comes from.

Thank you so much for this Alice. I used to be able to see Fr. Groeschel on EWTN on my TV on the weekends, but for some reason, my cable company removed EWTN from their lineup. I have missed hearing him .... he is a man full of Godly wisdom, gentleness, and honesty. Many thanks again ....
