Hello!

I have seen the following tropar, for the underlined phrase, also use the phrases "Orthodox Christians" and "your people."

Does anyone know what the most accurate rendering is in English from the earliest version of this tropar?

Fashioner of all creation, you fixed times and seasons by Your own authority; bless the crown of the year, O Lord, with Your goodness, preserving our nation and Your city in peace; and save us through the prayers of the Mother of God.

Thank you!

I'm guessing, admittedly, but I imagine that it is City - Constantinople.

What I often wonder is whether - after the fall of the City - Russians began to think of references to City in Liturgical texts as referring to Moscow... a topographical version of the legend of the white cowl and transitio imperium.
