DISCERNMENT WEEKEND AT
THE BYZANTINE SEMINARY FOR MEN, AGES 25 AND OLDER January 16-18,1999 |
||
What goes on in seminary anyway? Can you handle the academics? Will it be a life of monastic contemplation or active ministry? Can you fit in with other seminarians? Can you make the permanent commitment to priestly life, to a bishop and an eparchy? How sure do you need to be to give it a try? Discerning a vocation takes intense prayer, brutal honesty with yourself and frank dialog with others who have made the same journey in faith. If you are being called to the priesthood, no obstacle will be too great and no sacrifice will seem too costly. The "Vocation Discernment Weekend" at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh from January 16-18 can help you focus your discernment. Walk through a few days at the seminary, meet our college seminarians and theologians and hear about their experiences. Meet other men asking themselves the same questions. Take time to relax, pray and listen. Join us for Vespers, Matins and the Divine Liturgy. Attend some seminary classes and judge for yourself what the demands will be. There will be time for recreation too and an evening on the town in Pittsburgh. What there won't be is pressure or hype. The "Vocations Discernment Weekend" is open to Byzantine Catholic men 25 years of age and older.
