Mount St. Macrina House of Prayer, located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, is sponsored and staffed by the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great.

The Center, formerly the mansion of Josiah Van Kirk Thompson, a coal and coke baron in the early 1900’s is an elegant facility with small conference rooms, chapel, dining area and overnight accommodations for 21 people.

The peace-filled atmosphere surrounding the Center offers a sense of serenity, solitude and refreshment to all who visit.

Since many people realize the need to withdraw from their hectic everyday schedules, the Center offers the ideal place to relax and rest quietly with themselves and the Lord. Persons seeking to open themselves to God through prayer, reflection and solitude are invited to experience this in the quiet and beauty of the Center and the spacious grounds.

The staff conducts retreats and provides hospitality and opportunity for personal spiritual guidance. The Center also hosts a number of "Days of Prayer" for various church groups.

Programs are designed to meet the needs of an individual or group. Groups may also provide their own program and director.

Besides offering opportunities for enrichment and spiritual growth, the Retreat Center facilities are available on a limited basis for meetings for all denominations.

Individuals and groups are invited and encouraged to visit and/or plan day pilgrimages to the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help which is the focal point of the Center. Though thousands of people gather at Mount St. Macrina over the Labor Day weekend for the annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, few realize that they can visit the Shrine all through the year.
