Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for posting this photo. I'm curious if you happen to know how much this building would cost, or one like it? I've always dreamed that if I hit the lottery (first I need to play!) I would love to build a church like this for my church here in State College. How much would one need to build a nice, Carpatho-Rusyn wooden church for my Byzantine Church?

What a lovely church!
Some good news for a change: it is less expensive to build a traditional wooden church. Might I suggest visiting Saint Elias and consulting with their architect?

Incredible! How beautiful... I would definitely like to see pictures from the inside, if possible.

Tim, my oldest son will be in Ukraine the entire month of July (most of that at UCU) and I will have him check it out.
The chapel was built in the traditional single central-dome Hutsul style and it worked out very nice even with the rather limited dimensions of the lot to build it on.

I recollect pics of you with him probably not yet barely in his teens - again, I feel the passage of time. I'll look forward to the interior photos - this could be the first UGCC temple in Ukraine to be listed in the Directory. (Note to self, ask the good Deacon to prevail upon his son to also retrieve the patronal name, street address, telephone number, and schedule of Divine Services.) Many years, Neil (shameless at begging)

Indeed, we all feel the passage of time (in multiple ways and places...). They do grow up quickly - he is off to UCU for the summer and then university stateside next fall. As I have it the interior is being completed in stages as funds permit, and I don't know that anything other than the altar has been installed at this point (which was consecrated with the temple) to allow at least the celebration of the Liturgy. The iconostas is being constructed at a later stage as I understand also in a traditional Western Ukrainian style.
