How about "The Church of the Two Lungs"?

And this could be our new logo:

However, I recommend adding "Orthodox," which is a reference to the correctness of the faith and worship. Whereas "Catholic" is a reference to the Church, "kata 'olon" or "according to the whole;" i.e., "complete or lacking nothing."

So it would be "the One Holy, Orthodox, Catholic, and Apostolic Church."

Of course, we are a long way from there.

Andrew,

your proposal of the new styling is something that would most definitely have to be decided in a Council. wink

Dear Amado,

"...with the addition of the Eastern Churches..."

How kind of you to allow us to join the Church.

I was thinking of allowing the one remaining Western Patriarchate to join the system already in place for the Eastern Patriarchates. wink

In Christ,
Andrew

Dear Andrew:

It just happens that the "one remaining Western Patriarchate" has grown (can this be categorized as a manifestation of the development of doctrine? wink ) global to about 1 billion or so.

Logically, one adds the "300 million Orthodox" to the "1 billion+ Catholics," and should not be the other way around! biggrin

AntonI:

Look at what the Brit tabloids have done to you! wink

It seems they (the tabloids, not the Brits) have misshaped the "B" into "v" to transform an otherwise likeable Bulgarian bachelor into a "-ulgar" spokesman for macho puniness. :p

You should consider moving to Glasgow, under the motherly protection of Anhelyna! biggrin

So its truth in numbers opinion again.

Suppose it was the other way around, would you agree in joining the Orthodox church because of its overwhelming numbers, or would you join because of what you would consider being the true faith? Since when does numbers justify truth? I think the latest census on Muslims worldwide was that it will surpass all western Christian religions by the year 2020. Are we to consider joining up with them because they will make up the majority religion on earth?

This could go on forever...Like trying to name a baby wink

I'll stick with One, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. Nicaea-Contantinople knew what they were doing (note there is no East or West) smile .

OK, to get creative, I'd call the church the, "Companions of Jesus and Mary, East and West."
