Thank you also Father. This is more in keeping with the spirit of the thread and it helps edify all with this important phenomenom of God.
In IC XC, Father Anthony+
Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

No doubt with the use of modern methods of snooping, somebody could produce a video-recording of the appearance of the Holy Light.
However, not only would such an attempt be a blasphemous intrusion; it probably wouldn't convince anyone of anything, since with 20th-century techniques it is not particularly difficult to produce "miracles" on the screen - surely we've all seen the Red Sea rolling back in Cecil de Mille's version of the Ten Commandments - and, come to think of it, in the same film we've also seen the "finger of God" writing the Commandments (in Hebrew, no less) on the stone tablets. But nobody thinks that de Mille filmed the actual Events.
There is another consideration - it is entirely possible that the Holy Light would express God's displeasure with the application of such methods where such methods have no place to be - by causing the equipment to malfunction.

Incognitus Incognitus That is exactly what I was thinking God moves in His own way - and I'm sure He would show his great displeasure at our seeking to prove/disprove the Holy Light. Let us just be thankful that the Light is given in this mysterious way. Why do we always have to question things like this ?

And to add to it, I have heard, (I don't recall noticing it when in the church), that there is only one small entrance. So we have two miracles. One is the Holy Fire, and the other is that no one catches on fire, especially considering the amount of people within the church.
I have also heard though that sometimes the Holy Fire will start at other places throughout the Church, and also that it sometimes takes hours for it to come. I guess it has to do with how devout the people are, and the extent of prayers.
You know, I don't see anything wrong with having TV cameras there, so that everyone throughout the world can witness the event at the time it occurs. Of course if the unbelievers exceed the believers, the fire might not appear...and that would be bad.

Why not have TV cameras inside the Life-Giving Tomb to broadcast the miracle to all and sundry? Because playing with ordinary fire is dangerous; playing with the Holy Light and attempting to turn it into a form of entertainment would be asking for trouble and intruding upon a moment of deep intimacy between God and the Church. As C.S. Lewis famously wrote about Aslan: "He's not a tame Lion!"
