A few Orthodox Patriarchs have been seated on the chair over the years by the Popes.

Dear Friends,

It should come as a great comfort to us that when we recite the Jesus Prayer, we are addressing our Lord in the same way that Peter did when Christ praised him and granted him the keys to the kingdom.

In the Jesus Prayer, we all become like Peter!

Beautiful sermon from the Holy Father.

I pray for his ministry and that one day the great seat of Peter in Rome will be united with the seats of the East.

In Christ,

Dear Alice,

When it comes to you, I have a real dilemma!

On the one hand, you inspire so much with your prayerful, Christian spirit, especially your warm ecumenical heart that is after the unity of all of God's Churches.

On the other hand, you sorely tempt me to become Orthodox for preciesely the same reasons! smile

Cheers,

Alex

Alice,

I have to agree, you are always so warm and friendly when writing about ecumenical issues. You praise the Pope and the Ecumenical Patriarch with the same breath and I feel the same warmth each time I read your writings. smile

Praise to Almighty God for the feast of the Chair of Peter. May we all come to the fullness of faith.
