Logos Teen, Your statements, which reflect Fr. Gruner, who is suspended, and the Fatima Crusader, which is not a recognized organization, are refuted by the Blue Army, which is a recognized Apostolate, here: http://www.bluearmy.com/Message%20of%20Fatima.htm In Christ, Fr. Deacon Lance

Alex,
The title Vicar of Christ is what Vatican II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church have chosen to use as descriptive of the bishop' role.

Dear Father Deacon,
Yes, but I was referring to its historical development.
Perhaps I should have made that clear - I see now I did not.
Bl. Pope John XXIII once met the Mother Superior of the Order of the Holy Spirit.
She introduced herself as the "Superior of the Holy Spirit."
The Pope replied, "How lucky you are! I am only the Vicar of Jesus Christ!"
The term still does sound imperious in Orthodox ears as it is reminiscent of the "good old days" of the Byzantine Emperors.
A blessed night to you, Father Deacon!
Alex
