If you read the newspapers for any reason other than to keep up with "Get Fuzzy," "Foxtrot" or "Pearls Before Swine," you're just asking for trouble.

Dear Friends,

Unlike some of you who would rather do nothing when it comes to religion commentary in secular newspapers , I write letters to the editors and some of them get published.

One religion commentator wrote that he did not believe in an eternal hell as it contradicted the idea of a merciful God . . .

He believed that even someone like Hitler would be saved after he personally felt the anguish of every human being whose suffering and death he caused . . .

I wrote to say, ". . .but really - wouldn't an eternity in hell be more merciful?"

You guys just lack creativity

Dear Alex,
you'll be happy to hear two people wrote letters to the editor regarding their dissatisfaction with last Saturday's article about the "Lost Gospels".

Perhaps next time I see an article that begs for a response by way of a letter to the editor, you could help me articulate such a response.
