Yes, indeed!
My director has an additional challenge with me in that I'm EC and he wants me to be as open to Eastern spiritual writings as possible - he therefore gives me latitude.
And when I approached him about this, he thought that my seeking his approval for reading etc. was "over the top traditional."
I guess the Eastern tradition is more "structured" this way - but I'll talk to him more about this when he returns from retreat.
I was merely seeking the advice of others here in this regard (which I will submit to him as well).
And when I said that "St Benedict is my director" I meant it - but not to the point of excluding this-worldly directors.
Is it just me, or is the Administrator a bit jumpy these days?
