This may seem trivial compared to all of the other prayer needs that are out there, but it seems to me that Alice can't even sneeze around here anymore without someone jumping on her.

I'm pretty new to this forum, but I feel Alice is pretty special and she seems to have taken quite a few lumps lately. If we could keep her in our prayers........Thank You.

I pray for you Alice to have peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

This prayer is both personal and because of my affection, since my youth, for Greek Orthodox Christians.

Alice is one of our angels.

There are a few here who barely get the recognition they deserve. They slip in and out just when we need them the most, and keep us as a group from going over the edge. smile

For her happiness and peace of mind I pray...

God grant her long life and many blessed years!

I am quite confident that Alice, our dear sister in Christ will weather this in fine fashion. Her faith in what she believes is very strong.

How does that old rhyme go "Sticks & Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me", or did I mess that up.

Unfortunately James WORDS do sometimes hurt worse than sticks and stones. They don't break the bones; they break the heart. frown

God, be merciful to us all.

YES A HUGE BRAVO FOR ALICE!!!!!!!!!!

I have been delighted in her posts. When one is speaking the truth without timidity, then attacks come. Jesus said they will persecute you for my names sake! Alice is not afraid to speak the truth at all.

Thank you Jesus for Alice and the love of you she brings to this forum. Change the hearts of those who are angry and let there be peace and a willingness to learn about you from one another.

Dear Friends,

What has been happening to Alice is partly my fault.

When I left for an extended holiday, some here didn't have "Alex" to kick around.

So they hit on "Alice" - the names even sound similar, don't they? wink

I'm sure that's the reason . . .

But three cheers for ALICE!

The only Greek bearing great spiritual gifts for us - and whom we never have to be bewaring of!!

Chaire, Alice!!

Alice,

My prayers that you will remain with us. If reunification of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches is ever to occur, it will be because of people like you - Catholics and Orthodox who are willing to look beyond the historical wrongs that our Churches and their faithful have done to one another and beyond the legalisms masquerading as canons and theological precepts that each have erected in response thereto. You are one of those (sometimes, seemingly rare) people who look beyond and see the goodness in those at the church across the street who, in essence, share the same deeply-rooted faith in God, a God Who is unlikely to judge us for eternity on the basis of whom we commemorated in the dyptichs.

It is because of folks like you that a Forum like this is able to exist. You personify the noble concepts that the rest of us regularly parrot to the world about the charity that pervades here. Would that more of us were able to demonstrate it.

Many years,

Neil

Alex,

This post will earn me no end of grief, but it needs to be said.

Just once, try to understand that something isn't about you. Despite your dominance of these boards, as demonstrated by the incredible feat of posting almost 7 times more frequently than any other single poster, almost twice the total of the next 3 most frequent posters, this Forum continues to ably function whether you are here or not. Frankly, Alice's contribution here far outweighs yours and that of most all of us, maybe not in terms of information, but certainly in terms of inspiration. You need to sometimes look at a thread and question whether what you post will add to the real meaningful knowledge of its readers, help them in their religious growth, or inspire them to be better Catholics or Orthodox, rather than wondering if it will put them in awe of your never-ending trove of minutiae.

Neil

Dear Neil,

Then please forgive me my sins and sinfulness in the assurance that I shall not upset anyone on this forum ever again.

Dear Alice,

Ultimately, no one should have to take "Byzantine Silliness" or "BS."

And Neil is right, you are too wonderful a person to be subjected to such anti-Christian treatment here or anywhere.

May God bless you and your family always.

Alex

Dearest Lord, please don't let Alice leave. This site, composed primarily of men, seems to have fostered an excessively aggressive, if not at times rude, attitude among our brothers. I'm sure my sisters have also noted the ungentlemanly manners we have all experienced at one time or another. However, our Alice has been a beacon of graciousness and stability that has kept many of the female posters here.

Alice, you are always in my prayers.

Dear Friends,

This isn't connected with Alice, but with Neil and his comments about me above.

Although I was extremely sad this evening, having tried to understand why Neil said what were to me quite hurtful things, I've come to a resolution and have forgiven him as my brother in Christ.

I've learned something special tonight and that is one must not only forgive others, but let out all negative feelings by praying for them.

What negative and depressed feelings I had have been replaced by positive ones and I'm undertaking a special prayer "podvig" or period for Neil's intentions, that God may grant his every prayer and wish, bless him and prosper him spiritually and materially.

What peace and joy in Christ!

I will also pray earnestly for Alice, our dear sister in Christ.

May God bless you all.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

Alex

Dear Alex,

I am proud of you! smile

I was going to request that you and Neil make up. I really do love both of you!

I will never forget that you were the first one that defended me on this forum a very long time ago. I truly offer you a heartfelt 'thank you'! smile

Love in Christ,
Alice

I am sorry if Alice, or anyone else, has been offended on this forum (especially by me). I will pray for her, also. At the same time, if we can't disagree on a discussion forum, then we should change its name to a propaganda forum. Until that happens, I will continue to respectfully disagree with some of my fellow posters and not cave in to censorship by guilt and intimidation.
