Dear Byzcath friends,

Please pray for my 4 year old cousin, Jesse, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. His parents, Chuck and Jen, along with both sets of grandparents who live close by, are absolutely devestated by the diagnosis and prognosis, but the have also remained resolute in their love and hope that God will be glorified somehow through this terrible ordeal.

Jesse and his mom, dad and twin brother and sister will be going to Disney World soon as part of a program that sponsors trips for kids with terminal illnesses.

For Jesse and his healing:

O Lord, You Who said, "Let the little ones come to Me and do not forbid them"---hear our prayers for Jesse and his healing! We bring him now to You trusting that You will something marvelous and special for him, and that whatever You do, it will bring Jesse and his family closer to You and to one another. Help them all to know how VERY much You care for them and love them, so much so...that You suffered and died and Rose from the dead so that they could be happy forever with You one day in Paradise! Help Jesse and his family to feel how close You are to them each moment of each day and may they grow in their relationship with You daily! May the knowledge that you are near and in charge---help to cast out their fears and transform their days and nights by Your peace, which surpasses all human understanding. We ask these things in His precious name, He Who is Lord of our lives and Who reigns with You Father and the Spirit as One God, for all eternity, Amen.

Lord Jesus as the commander came to you in faith, asking that you heal his child, Jesse's family also comes before you in faith asking the same. You replied that the child was healed. Yahweh as the woman came and ask that her daughter be helped, she replied that "even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the masters table." You replied 'woman your faith is great' and healed her daughter. So do the same for this family Jesus. For they believe what you have said from the beginning, great is their faith. Amen.

Prayers to St. Nectarios for healing.

Through my tears at the beauty of the faces of those beautiful and precious and innocent little children, I ask the Lord through His great mercy and love for all mankind, and through the intercessions of all the saints, including the wonderworkers or recent times, St. Nektarios of Aegina, and St. John Maximovitch, that Jesses' tumour will completely disappear and that he will one day serve the Lord, praising HIS most glorious name.
Prayers for Jesse's parents, may our Lady hold them in her bosom, giving them consolation and strength.
I pray this in the most powerful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Heal Jesse of every infirmity, restore him to full strength and vigor, and cast the monster in his brain back to the depths of Hades whence it came. An update on Jesse...sad news I'm afraid.

To all who have been praying, thank you. Dr. Fisher called us this afternoon with the �unofficial� results of the MRI. She said it shows signs of progression. The tumor is larger than before (by an unspecified amount).
The cyst which is in the center of the tumor has grown and it is possible that this increase is making the tumor seem larger. There is also now a �cm spur that is protruding out of the tumor which causes concern of possible spreading of the tumor.

For now, she wants us to start his dosage of chemo tonight, instead of the scheduled start date of next Tuesday. She wants to see if this has any immediate affect on the symptoms. Because he has lost some weight, the dosage has changed to 120cm. This means he will be taking only 2 pills, one large (100mg) and one small (20mg). She also had us pick up a prescription
of steroids � to help Jesse if he begins to not feel well. We�re only to give him the steroids after discussing in detail with her on Monday. But she wanted us to have them over the weekend in case it�s needed. This is all we know for now.

Daily after the Midday Office, we pray for the Child Jesse and ask God to heal him, if it is His will. We will increase our prayers for him and his siblings and parents.

Lord, in the light of Your Resurrection shine in the life of this child of Yours, Jesse...and if it be Your holy will for him---heal him and show the power of Your presence for all the world to see! Be merciful to Jesse's parents and siblings and his whole family and give them a deepening of their faith and hope and trust in You and Your Kingdom, the Eternal Paradise prepared for them from the beginning of the world. Give Your peace to all of them and may they feel Your presence around them everywhere! May Your Most Holy Mother, the Ever-Virgin Mary be among them giving them hope for Heaven and the knowledge of Your Kingdom...bringing them serenity and trust! St. Nektarios of Aegina, St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco, and St. Teresa of Calcutta, intercede before the Throne of the Most Holy Trinity for God's child Jesse and his family!
