Rose,

All your friends in Tennessee are praying that Fr Deacon Stan may soon be back up and working in the Lord's vineyard. But please, Rose, be extra sure to make certain you are taking care of yourself during Stan's convalescence. You both need each other to be as physically strong for each other as you have always been spiritually strong.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, I know they are working powerfully for Deacon Stan.

The docotors did an anteriogram today and apparently he will have to have a quadruple by-pass. They are trying to clear an infection he has, and maybe will let him come home to get stronger. They will send him home to take some meds to strengthen his heart for two weeks, and then do the bypass surgery.

Apparently this has been going on for years - listen up you men especially who don't take care of yoursleves and women too - they can be silent. He never knew he was having them. One artery has actually bypassed itself but it now blocked. So please, please, please get check ups, your left arm doesn't always let you know you are having a heart attack.

I know that God is not done with him yet, he has allowed us to find it now, before things could get any worse. When he is done with all of this I also know he will be better than he has in years, almost a new man biggrin . Glory to God!

Pani Rose

A friend just sent me this prayer...

I'm going to post a prayer in "Time of Sickness" from A TREASURY OF PRAYERS"
"O Jesus, you suffered and died for us; You understand suffering: Teach me to understand my suffering as You do; To bear it in union with You; To offer it with You to atone for my sins and to bring Your grace to souls in need. Calm my fears; increase my trust. May I gladly accept Your holy will and become more like You in trial. If it be your will, restore me to health so that I may work for Your honor and glory and the salvation of all men. Amen Mary, help of the sick, pray for me.

Thank you for sharing the info with us. I have been making changes in my habits and have lost 15 pounds in about a month so far. I am trying to steer my family history into a new family future.

Continued prayers for Deacon Stan and his family.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

Pani Rose,

I'm glad to hear that they have identified a possible remedy for Deacon Stan. My father-in-law, my uncle and my grandfather had one in recent years and they felt 100% better afterwards.

But your counsel is well received here. And our prayers for you, him and the your family will continue.

Continued prayers from a bypass veteran.
Your words of caution ought to be amended: I was 49, not overweight, non-smoker, walked 10 miles a day [I am a letter carrier] and still needed the surgery. So if you have family history of cardiovascular problems, like I did, don't think that because you have none of the other warning signs that you are okay!
-Daniel
ps: the doctors will tell your husband that this is a routine proceedure, no big deal.
Believe me, it may be routine for the doctor, and there is little risk, but it is anything but routine for the patient!
