Rev. Father Job Chittilappilly was found dead on Saturday, 28 August, in the residence of Our Lady of Grace parish church in Thuruthiparambu, Kerala, India. Father Job, 71, who had served this parish of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church for 45 years, was murdered. Preliminary reports suggest that he was executed by unknown persons who targeted him for what they perceived as proselytizing on his part.

See Zenit at:
Catholics in India Shocked by Brutal Murder of Priest [zenit.org]

Holy and Sainted Thomas, Patron of our brothers and sisters who, to this day, style themselves by your name, intercede at the Holy Throne for the Priest Job, who gave his mortal life to the service of those to whom you first brought the news of Christ and who comes now before the Great Priest, taken from his holy work by persons who know not what they have done.

O God of all spiritual and temporal beings, You Who trampled death, broke the power of Satan, and granted life to the whole world, now, O Lord, grant rest to the soul of Your departed servant, the Priest Job. Lead him to a place of light, love, and peace, where there is neither pain nor sorrow, neither tears nor mourning. You, Who are a gracious God and the Lover of mankind, remember especially the Priest Job's years of service to You, at Your Holy Table, and forgive him every transgression that he may have committed, whether by word or thought or deed, for You alone are without sin. You are the Resurrection and the Life and we render glory to You, together with Your Eternal Father, and Your most Holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and always and forever and ever, unto all the ages. Amen.

Memory eternal.

May the Lord God grant rest to his servant, the priest Job, in the presence of He-Who-Is Light, Joy and Peace; a presence in which there is no pain, sorrow, or mourning. Eternal Memory!
