I just read in an "East-N-West" thread that Fr. Gregory has prostate cancer. If Father doesn't mind, I'd like to start a prayer chain for him here.

May God in His great Mercy bannish the cancer from Archimandrite Gregory.

May Our Lord strengthen him in body, mind, and spirit, as he undergoes daily treatment and that the treatment will be completely successful.

Thanks, Logos Teen ...

Many prayers for our Father Archimandrite!

(do you see how much we love you, Father Gregory? wink If you ever wanted to become Greek-Catholic . . oh, darn, I shouldn't say things like that . . . smile ).

Forgive me a sinner, childish and offensive and all that!

Were you at one time a Greek Catholic?

Dear Orthoman,

Sorry to have let that slip . . .

Would you like to become Greek-Catholic, perhaps?

NO!? I didn't think so . . .

I was never Greek Catholic, but I did live in a Greek Catholic rectory once many years ago...until the bishop saw me fraternizing with too many Orthodox priests...then I was asked to leave. (True story...but I'm not going to tell you the bishop's name...because he's still a ruling bishop!) smile

But don't forget to tell us when he's not a ruling bishop anymore.

Thanks Alex, but I most graciously deline your most kind offer! My two most favorite saints aren't St Mark of Ephesus and St Job of Pochaev for nuttin!

Besides Baba would turn over in her grave! When I asked why she left to become Pravoslavny she used to tell me - "Dos peoples don know vat dey are or vat they vant be. Dey no vant be Roamin Catolik but dey no vant be Pravoslavny neider, Yoy Bosha!"

Laura, +May HE bless you! When he reposes, I'll tell you. Funny thing about this whole event too...in 1988 this same Greek Catholic bishop was present in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City...and I was there participating in the service. Both this bishop and I ended up in the procession together, he just in front of me...(there were many Catholic bishops attending that day and they were also in the procession, but didn't serve). We entered the Cathedral and paused at the entrance (waiting for His Eminence, Archbishop Iakovos to come out of the Royal Doors)...and this bishop turned around and said to me, "Father---don't I know you from somewhere?" (I of course---now had a beard) and I said, "Yes Your Excellency, I'm the Franciscan you threw out of your rectory in 'such-n-such a city'...with that, he immediately turned back and faced the altar and never said anything to me again. LOL It was a REAL enjoyable day---at least for me. cool

In His great love,
+Father Archimandrite Gregory
