Fr. James Hayer, pastor of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA and editor of "Eastern Catholic Life," was hospitalized very early Monday morning after suffering what is suspected to be a stroke; there will be further testing to confirm or disprove this diagnosis. He is currently at Hershey Medical Center and is not taking any visitors or phonecalls at this time.

May God raise up Fr. Jim from his sickbed, restore his health, and grant him many, blessed years!

Dave

Prayers for Father Jim, that his physicians be skillful in their diagnosis and efficacious in their treatment of him, that he recover fully and without incident, and that God grant him many years of healthful and blessed service.

I don't feel right posting personal details on a message board, but I do want to say that Fr. James is not doing too well as of last report, so please continue and intensify your prayers for him. He is a dear friend as well as fellow priest, and too good a man of God to be side-lined!

I've been informed that the Canon of Fervent Supplication for the Sick will be served for Father James at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre this Wednesday, July 13, at 7:00 PM.

In IC XC,
Father Anthony+
