I figured I beat Alex to this one wink .

Today according to the Julian reckoning of the Paschallion, it is the feast of the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I wish all a blessed feast, and pray that we may all prepare for the Pentecost and to truly learn to utilize the gifts that we inherit through our baptism and chrismation.

Troparion - Tone 4

O Christ God, You have ascended in Glory,
Granting joy to Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Through the blessing they were assured
That You are the Son of God,
The Redeemer of the world!

Kontakion - Tone 6

When You did fulfill the dispensation for our sake,
And unite earth to Heaven:
You did ascend in glory, O Christ our God,
Not being parted from those who love You,
But remaining with them and crying:
I am with you and no one will be against you!

In IC XC,
Father Anthony+

Also, on the new calendar it is also the feast day of Saint Justin the Philosopher.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

I wish a Holy and Blessed Feast to those celebrating Our Lord's Ascension today.

In the Roman Church we are all confused as some dioceses celebrated last Thursday and some did on Sunday. confused mad
