Hi Theist Gal.....as long as the struggle goes on rejoice that you have not given in, and keep looking up at the Lord and smiling.

Lesson learned from this, however - is that the coals are always smoldering & ready to flare up at any time - so keep the Holy Water handy!

Dear Dolly,

Erasmus of Rotterdam, Thomas More's friend, in his "Handbook of the Militant Christian," says that when fighting temptation, it is always best to imagine what the consequences would be if we gave in to that temptation.

When we can picture them in our mind, we will not give in.

You can always join LatinTrad for a cold shower.

Oops . . .sorry!

Dear Alex:

You must have had a bucketful of cold showers for yourself before that it shows in the ease with which you recommend this remedy to Dolly and . . . poor Latin Trad! wink

Dear Amado and Dolly,

"I am well rebuked!" (Thomas More to Lady Alice in the Tower).

We haven't heard from LatinTrad for a while - hope he's out of that cold shower by now!

If this is a former "flame," Dolly, what is wrong?

After several years of marriage, I met my old flame quite by accident.

She had such a high opinion of herself that she thought that I was still smitten with that kitten . . .

But, instead, when I saw her, I said, "Hi" and then put my arm around my wife and walked happily on by . . .

"Oh, you can be cruel if you've a mind to - but I've always known that!" (Duke of Norfolk to Thomas More, prior to arrest).

Dear LatinTrad:

Your absence makes itself more manifest because these Easterns rarely hear from someone like you who makes sense, and who unabashedly proclaims, I might add, the truth about the (Latin) Catholic Church. wink
