Dear Brother Timothy --

I would very much like to meet you. I go to St. Ann's and would like to introduce myself to you.

BTW -- you mentioned going to confession. Did Fr. Mike return from the Ukraine? I wasn't sure when he would be back.

Cordially in Christ,

I am delighted to hear of the triumph of grace, which brings you to confess, and to the mysteries. I will remember you at the preparation at the Liturgy tomorrow.

May God confirm you in his love!

Dear in Christ Brother Ed,

I don't know when Fr. Mike is or will be back. God willingly, my parents and I will be at the 10:00 Liturgy. We'll probably be in the back. My dad has a goatee, and I have short hair and short beard, and glasses. My mom will be with us.

I went to confession last night at St. Joan's in Hershey. So I could be prepared for Liturgy.

Dear Brother in Christ Timothy --

The pleasure was all mine. I am amazed at your ability to learn the Russian language. The Cyrilic alphabet drives me nuts!!! Why could't Sts. Cyril and Methodius have taught the Rus peoples Greek!!! LOL!!

May Christ God bless you and your family,

Dear Timofey,

Thanks to God for your return to the Church, and welcome Home.

Dear Bro Ed,

If you think the Cyrllic alphabet is bad, you should see the one he actually invented (he did not actually invent the so-called Cyrillic, but rather the Glagolitic).

Dear in Christ Brother Ed,

I prefer Slavonic/Russian to Greek personally, although I can read Greek and can translate basic stuff. I will be glad to help you learn Russian if you're interested. And as Adam says, Glagolithic is much harder than even Cyrillic. I remember it took me only a few weeks to learn Cyrillic (modern style), and from there it was easy to learn the Old Slavonic alphabet, which is kinda a fancy way of writing Cyrillic. Plus, my learning of Russian has enabled me to be able to understand quite a good bit of Serbian, Ukrainian, etc.

God be with you,

Dear in Christ Brother Timothy, servant of God Most High --

You know, I really do like the sound of Slavonik. My favorite chant in Slavnoic is the Trisagion. St. Ann's sure has some wonderful voices in it and the harmonies I hear there are marvelous.

The Paschal hymns are also wonderful in Slavonic.

You know, I really haven't put much of an effort into trying to learn the alphabet. Just too many crazy things taking up my time. My wife is pretty sick and I have to take care of running the house as well as trying to keep up with two 16 year olds who think the house is a garbage can. It is a constant struggle to get them to pick up after themselves.

Then, of course, there is the St. Ann's Respect Life Committee, of which I am the newsletter editor. So I tend to kinda flit from one thing to another.

I admire you a lot. You seem to be a young man with a definate purpose in life and a set direction. I wasn't that organized and purposeful when I was your age -- and truth be told, with the family situation I have right now, I still ain't!! biggrin About the only thing I really put a concerted effort into is work, but that is only because I have bills that regularly show up in the mail and demand to be paid!

I will strive to remember you in my prayers, that God would continue to guide you and draw close to you. Please do the same for me. There are days that I am so stressed out all I can do is lie down and sleep for a while until I have the strength to start over again.
