Just an update:
The darkness in my eye is subsiding, but the blurrines is not. The ophthamologist says it could take several weeks to heal but most of the blind spots have cleared up.
I saw the neurologist on Friday. She is ordering a couple more tests to confirm MS. Apparently other diseases can cause the white spots on the brain too, but since my symptoms are those of MS they are starting out by trying to confirm that.
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Many people suffer with MS symptoms for years before they are diagnosed. It can take months to get an appointment with a neurologist even after MS is suspected. In the course of a month I have seen an optometrist, an ophthamologist twice, a neurologist, and had an MRI. God is blessing me with quick-acting, knowlegdable doctors who order the necessary tests in a timely manner, and get me appointments with specialists quickly. And I have health insurance that covers most of the costs.
