I have heard this morning that he has had what he terms a 'mishap' over the weekend and damaged - very probably broken - 2 ribs.

This is not comfortable - one broken rib is painful enough but 2 are rather more than double the pain and discomfort.

I ask you to join me in prayers that his ribs are healed swiflty and his pain is eased

Lord Jesus, touch and heal our dear Alex. Let him know how much you love and care for him. Grant your grace and mercy upon his wife as she helps him during this time.

Dear Friends,

Just a quick note to thank you for your prayers for me and my ribs!

We are all doing much better and my advice to all of you is to try and refrain from running backwards too much when you play volleyball . . .

For a number of reasons, all of which are my fault, I've bowed out here permanently.

Please accept this personal "thank you" for everything and the assurance that you have my poor prayers always.

God bless,

Alex

Alex,

My prayers for your quick recovery and freedom from discomfort.

Many years,

Neil, who has never hurt himself running backwards, but is known to be a bit klutzy in the forwards mode

Dear Alice and Neil,

Thank you for not "ribbing" me about any of this!

That really would be too much to bear.
