I'm so sorry about your Godfather, Alex. I will pray. May he rest in peace.

Glory To Jesus Christ!
Glory To Him Forever!
May Our Lord grant your Godfather Blessed Repose with Himself, His Dear Mother Mary and all the Saints in Heaven and once again being reunited with his family forever.
I lost my Godfather years ago, but actually was never close to him. But I did lose a Godson just about 2 months ago to a tragic car accident.
He was only 37 yrs. old and had a wife, 2 children and 2 step children. I am close to my Godchildren of which I had 13, now only 11 living, but understanding from this point of view I know how tragic a loss can be for you.
I too extend my "deepest and heartfelt sympathy" in this your time of loss.
The part of your prayer petition that was so beautiful is how this wonderful man dedicated his life to his mother and sister in taking care of them in their time of need. Now I am sure that he is with the Lord forever, sharing eternal bliss. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for all your prayers for my Godfather!

Just a note to say that I've contacted his sole surviving relative, a cousin, and her daughter was also his Goddaughter - I'll meet her for the first time ever at the 40 days' Liturgy.

I'm organizing my Godfather's 40 days' requiem Liturgy and at the same Church, St Nicholas, where I was baptized and where we saw each other for the first time . . .

I am so moved that I'll be able to participate in the Divine Liturgy for him there!

Alex

Again, we commemorate all the faithful departed, especially the servant of God Sylvester, who from everywhere have departed, fallen asleep in true faith and are at rest; those who have already departed and have attained to God the Father of all spirits and of all flesh. Let us ask and beseech Christ our God, Who has received their souls and spirits unto Himself, that, in His abundant mercy, He may make them worthy of the remission of trespasses and the forgiveness of sins, and carry us and them to His heavenly kingdom.

Kyrie eleison, Kyrie eleison, Kyrie eleison.

"The souls of the just are in the hands of God". May the Lord grant His mercy to His departed servant; may He lead him to a place of refreshment, light and peace. And may His servant's family, friends and loved ones find peace in His servant's transition from this world to the eternal Kingdom.

Eternal Memory.

Dear Friends,

CIX!
CHB!

Thank you! I had breakfast with my mother this morning and she told me about the "good old days" with my Godfather.

As I walked to work today, I went by the site of the building where he once worked as an engineer.

Apartments are now being built on the site.

I'm going to keep in close contact with his surviving family who live here and with his other Godchild - my "God-sister?"

I don't know if that is a proper term - although I'm sure she really is "divine!"

God bless,

Alex
