I heard the 'nuke' threat on Fox News the other day. I don't think Putin was serious- or at least I hope not, but he made his point.

As for the designer of the barrel being as rotten as the bad apples -who is the "designer" you are referring to Matthew?

Adolph Hitler was no Catholic. He was a pagan of the Teutonic variety, but not a Catholic. If your contention could be proved I'd leave the Church.

If Mohammad knew Christ in personal way and then rejected him he is indeed responsible for his decision to turn from Christ. Non-Christians who have never known Jesus Christ (not had a personal relationship with him) are not considered by the Church to have rejected him.

Dan, you don't need to leave the Church. There have always been bad Catholics - there still are for that matter. Hitler was baptized, but when did he ever live up to the teachings of the Church? He was an evil person. If I remember correctly, Stalin was once an Orthodox seminarian. My take on all that, is that when Satan is able to bring down Christians, he delights in reducing them to total depravity.

Thanks but I wasn't talking about what would happen to me if I left. I'm curious about Hitler. Can he who left the Church, persecuted Her, and made no attempt to repent, so far as we know, really be Catholic even though he was baptized as an infant?
