Dear Friends,

It has become clear to me that my participation here has become spiritually negative for me, all through my fault.

I need to go my way and examine myself, and see where things lead.

I apologise to any, especially Joe Thur, that I've offended here. I apologise for my own many immaturities, not the least of which is my periodic withdrawal from this Forum only to come back later etc.

I've prayed about my decision right now.

I need to follow through with the vocation I thought I had and then thought I had lost.

I realize now that a vocation is something that doesn't end on God's part, only on ours.

But we cannot avoid hearing the call.

I've been playing the armchair theologian here for too long.

The time has come and I need to find the peace that comes from not avoiding things any longer.

I ask to be remembered in your prayer.

Thank you for helping come to this point in time.

God bless you all,

Alex

Slava Isusu Christu!

Dear Alex,

an arm-chair theologian? I think not. A vocation does not alway's mean the Priesthood, although I think you would be a very great Priest wink .

I would encourage you to go back to teaching my friend. You are way to good to be out of the education field. A P.H.D.? I believe the staff at the U.I.O.C.S. could use you and certainly Sheptytsky could use you. But we Greek Catholics really need good teachers in our semanaries. I would encourage you to pursue this. And if you should become a married Priest I think it all the better smile .

It is not going to be the same with out you.

God Bless you my friend.

Alex,

I posted under Byzantine vocations before reading here. When you need to back off why do you think it has to be permanent? Its not necessary to leave, just fast for awhile. Just because you have an exchange with a person it doesn't mean that its a negative. If it interferes with your daily life where you are not doing what needs to be done, thats another story. and of course you are in my prayers.

Alex, my brother,

I read your posting with great saddness. I respect your decision to withdraw for a time.

I pray that you will understand clearly the call that the Lord has made to you. May He grant you the strength to be faithful to that call and the wisdom to know what it is not.

From what I can see, you have done so on this forum and in the other places where you post.

I pray that the Lord will guide you back to us so that we can learn from you and support you, too.

As you can see, you are in our love and our prayers.

Come and be among us as the Spirit gives you that call. Prayers and blessings upon you and yours.

Pray for us, too.

Steve

Alex,
I'm sure that what you have to do, will be done with the Lord's blessing, but you must return and continue teaching us someday. By the way if during your absence you run into Patriarch Husar tell him that we need Studites down here.

Alex,

You've been a great teacher to everyone one this forum, and not just in theology. You've inspired me in many ways, as you have most others on this board. I pray for your call to your vocation and hope that you continue to instill knowledge, love, and good spirit in everyone you encounter.

Alex,

You have often offered some very cogent comments on what I and others have written on the forum. I am sorry that you have decided to bow out, but I understand the need to prioritize in your life. Godspeed.

Dear Friends,

Just a note to say "thank you" and also to share that I'm on the path I think I'm meant to be on.

I've been having a lot of tension of late concerning that whole "vocation" thing.

Thanks to your prayer and to some keen insights on the part of our Administrator, I've come to realize that, yes, I have a vocation and, no, it isn't anywhere near the altar.

The tremendous sense of peace that is mine now is amazing. I'm still putting together my "plan of action" but I feel I'm finally headed in the right direction.

And I've come to realize that there will be people who won't like me or who will take offense at me even when none is intended.

(And also who won't acknowledge a personal apology even when one is sincerely offered, but I won't name names).

If you can stomach me, I wouldn't mind posting here once in a while.

I'll be busy working on some other things in the meantime.

God bless you all,

Alex

Dear Alex,

The idea that we will not have you any more in this forum makes me very sad. I am also very sorry because I know now that your vocation isn't anywhere near the altar, I am sure that you would be an excellent Ukranian Patriarch (the first one)!!! I understand you very well when you say that your participation in this forum has become spiritually negative for you, I have felt the same sometimes but I also believe that your participation in this forum has been positive for many people. The opinions of people like you must be heart in the Catholic Church, do not forget it !!! I suggest you to leave this forum for a while and to pay us a visit from time to time with a new nick name or something like that. May the Lord help you in your vocation. My prayers and the prayers of all of us will be always with you wherever you may be. Oi efhes tis Panagias na eine panta mazi sou (the prayers of the Mother of God may be with you always)!!!

Yours in Christ,
Francisco
