Dear Francisco,
I think my newly found vocation has dissipated a lot of the negativity I've been feeling lately.
But no longer.
And this Forum is not meant to be a place where someone "lives" but participates, from time to time, when one is so moved.
Also, prayer and reflection are helping me overcome the temptation to apologise to everyone and everything at the slightest sign of their disapproval of my views or their misunderstanding of the way I express them - while impugning my motives for doing so.
If we were afraid of what others think of what we might say, none of us would ever speak.
But I think I'll keep my name - personal and screen.

Actually, some here think I am full of it . . .
I'm not really back, but different. Contented, more introspective, less nervous and more focused.
Again, it was Joe Thur's comments on vocations that got me thinking.
Perhaps the Cantor should be an official vocations counsellor, do you think?
He would doubtless help many find their way in life.

Did you ever think this may be your calling? It ties together, religion, education, and young people. It also would not infringe on your family time.

Dear Alex,
with Brother Peter, Father Elias, and Father Jack out there I believe the future of Byzantine vocations is assured. A good Priest always draws vocations by there words, deeds, and teachings.
A married cleregy is important but not the most important consideration. Turning good people into good priests is the most important consideration celibate or not.

Absolutely.
And I like to think that a good vocations director would tell someone in whom he recognizes a vocation to something other than the priesthood/monastic life to go and follow that vocation.
