Dear Friends:
Yesterday, my wife and I found out that her mother has lung cancer. We will know more about treatment options, prospects for long-term survival, etc., on Thursday when she meets with her physician to discuss results of the biopsy. Please pray for her and my father-in-law (their names are Judy and Rich), as well as for my wife and her four siblings.

Dear Friends:
Thank you for your prayers. The news we got today was not good. The cancer is in an early stage, but it is spread throughout the alveoli (air sacs) all over both lungs. Surgery is not an option. Her physician says that with treatment, it may be possible to prolong her life by an additional 3 years. She begins chemotherapy Monday. Please continue to pray for her and the entire family.

Dear Friends:
Last Monday (20 November), my mother-in-law had her first treatment of chemotherapy. She has not felt well since then and yesterday she told my wife that she is considering stopping the treatments. This prospect is very distressing for my wife-she feels sort of hopeless right now. Please continue to be in prayer.
