An occational prayer for all Catholic priest falsly accused of sexual misconduct.

The rats smell blood - and so many are being falsly accused - in hopes of being paid off by the Church.

We pray for the few priest who have done misconduct - and we pray for the many who are falsly accused.

Amen! This prayer may help anyone is accused falsely:

Be not silent, O God of my praise!
For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me,
speaking against me with lying tongues.
They beset me with words of hate,
and attack me without cause.
In return for my love they accuse me,
even as I make prayer for them.
So they reward me evil for good,
and hatred for my love.

{Psalm 109:1-5)

Also: (as always!)

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen.

In His Holy Name,
+Fr. Gregory

Amen. While those accused rightly definitely need to be held accountable along with their hierarchy, unfortunately many have taken advantage of false witness and needlessly ruined the lives of several good priests.

I would dare say MORE than a few! If we would only follow the Gospel teaching, "If you have something against your brother go to him...if he will not listen to you then bring another...and if he will not listen to the two of you...then bring him before the Church..." we would all be the better for it.

Humbly in Christ,
+Fr. Gregory

This being National Vocations Awareness Week, let us also pray for those who may feel they are beng called to the priesthood or religious life, that they may reflect on and take seriously their calling.

Let us pray for our current seminarians, priests and religious that they may be strenghtened and renewed in their ministries.

Let us pray for the laity that we be better witnesses to Christ and his Church in our daily lives.
