Hi

I don't know if some of you knew that this movie, whcih has very a very realistic representation of the crucifiction of Our Lord by his own people, has caused "serious preocupations" among certain jews, specially some zionist asociations.

Mel Gibson, in Rome, declared that are trying to attack him by investigating his private life, his bank accounts, and the charity organizations he helps. mel also said that they have tried to get false declarations against him, from his father. He stated that it was never his intention to offend the jewish people, but to show something about the sacrifice of Christ

Remie,

not to question your integrity in the least, but do you have actual verification of this?

I keep hearing all sorts of things about those powerful zionists & the like - but the last time I asked, nobody was able to point me to the bank my father was entitled to...

>>>>>We are definitely going to hear more about this movie in the secular and church press.<<<<

I think that is part of the reason for the course he is taking. He will purposely get the medias attention if for no other reason than the languages. That will draw attention from those who are just curious as to how it will sound.

I also believe many will go who like bloody and gory details, and they will be converted. His premice is right, that we were not there. So over 2000 years have passed and our minds have grown numb to the violence of this world. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for our hearts.

The Holy Spirit blows as He wills and God uses whatever He desires to convert people. I would say this must be a strong burdern on the mans heart to undertake such a task. Besides if Woopie Goldberg can get attention from Sister Act and say 'heaven helped'as appeared on so many magazine covers, I personally think Mel Gibson is going to get a lot more help from heaven with his work.

I admire Judy Davis, Kate Blanchett, and Bryan Brown much more as real actors that have come out of Australia.
Hey, Nicole Kidman ain't too shabby...

As for Kate Blanchett, have you ever seen "The Gift"?

I certainly hope that people will be converted by the film, as Rose says. Unfortunately, I foresee some anti-Christians mocking the movie. God bless Mel Gibson for attempting to portrary the life of Christ, regardless of his "track record" (which I admit hasn't been 100%).

The main article appeared in the magazine Time. I have the interview with Mel Gibson about this from one of my mail lists but it is in Spanish. It's pretty much what I have written here. Recently, one of the rabbis of Austin spoke out to defend Gibson's work, and clarified that the movie had no intention to hurt the jewish community.

By the way, I am of jewish background myself, my grandmother's stepdad was Jewish-Ukrainian. I think that some posts have been misunderstood, I have never meant to label the jewish people as "zionists" or something like that. Some of the criticisms that some authors have made in order to revise history, criticize attitudes, conducts and ideologies, but it is clear that these statements must never be understood as a particular prejuidce against a nation or a people.
