Shlomo Lkhoolkhoon,
As I mentioned on another thread I had a meaning with the Director of Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in MN. Well the Great news is that he is more than willing to setup a program on Eastern Catholicism. It will take some time, but everyone who wishes can help it along.
That way is to have there Eparchies, Archeparchies, etc. donate two sets of books on there Church to the University. One set would be kept in the Catholic Studies Library and the other would be put in the University's General Library.
The director of my Eparchies Education Department is backing this, and I hope to get you'll on board.
If you know the e-mail addresses, or phone numbers of the Education Directors that would be the biggest help.
Also, we all need to start talking to our parishes about getting a chair established for this program so that it will not be dependent on the whims of trustees or the economy.
Lastly, if we look long term if this program is successful then it can be used as a template for other Catholic Colleges and Universities. And yes I know and love The Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies, but it primarily focused on the Byzantine Tradition. The program I am speaking about would focus equally as possible on all four (Alexandrian, Antiochene, Armenian, and Byzantine) of the Eastern Traditions within the Catholic Church.
All help especially prayers are welcome.
Poosh BaShlomo,
Yuhannon
