Dan,
I think a paper could be formed for evangelization. I think the purpose of the BCW, well since I have known of it for the last 20 years, is to keep people informed. Sophia, the Melkite Magazine, does it very similarly. With a letter from the Archbishop, and some articles from clergy. The rest is what is happening.
I would love to work on something like that. My health often gets in my way of accomplishing the task at hand. But, I would be willing to take a stab at something.

See you Aug. 6 at Whiting, Indiana.
Dan L The newspaper is often like a large church bulletin, although there certainly is a need to build community among Byzantines. I agree it's not a very effective tool for evangelization.

Friends,
I think building community among BC Catholics is a good idea. It may be effective for that. I do not know. However, I wonder if this part of their mission is really being fulfilled with this tool:
"to teach the Gospel message in the rich tradition
of the Byzantine Catholic Church"
If it is or it isn't I believe there is a place for a paper that explains the Gospel to others than those who already are familiar with it.
An idea. We may have people with the talent. I do not know.
We shall certainly raise the issue on Aug. 6.

This is a newpaper printed by a friend of ours here in Birmingham, Deloris Hicks for some 18 years now. She is Roman Catholic, but the paper is eccumenical. Thought you might enjoy it. It is all about exhortation and evangelization. http://www.networknewspaper.org/ Since she is already operational, maybe there is a way it could join together with her on a much larger scale. The paper is delivered free of charge all over Alabama in Churches, stores, restaurants, etc., and is free of charge. It is paid for by advertisements. Pani Rose

Pani,
That is a very good looking paper. It explains things in a way that those outside the Church may understand and appreciate.

Dan I was just thinking about all the writers we have on this forum. An amazing talent is present here. Maybe there is some way we could tap into it. The other day I came across and old article written by our Adam DeVille on fasting....here is the link It is on the catechesis of fasting. http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&lr=&q=cache:3cvW-MZ5GHkJ:www.dads.org/docs/40daysfreedom.pdf+fast+of+the+dormition Pani Rose
