It's still 2003 over here, but I wish you a happy new year, too! May this year be filled with great joy and peace and unity in Christ.
Let us pray for Unity In Christ!

Dear OLSL,
Thanks for the New Year good wishes.
It's still 2003 here. This evening my family and I went to vigil Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
God bless you and your family.
Paul

Likewise Happy New Year. I wasn't in Sydney for midnight, but friends who were tell me that the fireworks display at the harbour was the most spectacular they've ever seen - and made the crowd of over a million people worth enduring (knowing my friends, I suspect that they lubricated themselves with liquid refreshment). God grant us all His choicest blessings in this new year of grace. Incognitus

This is part of the fun of the time difference 'thing'. I am usually late on discussions - but this time I was at the 'correct time' - not my fault you were late . I e-mailed someone, whom shall be nameless, at just gone midnight to wish them a Happy New Year and got the following in response [ I hope they don't mind me quoting it ] <<Wow ! I never exchanged e-mails from someone in another year before ! :-) >> It did amuse me. Incognitus You mentioned the festivities in Aussieland All I can say is lucky them - here festivities in Edinburgh and Aberdeen had to be cancelled because of the appalling weather - just not safe - high winds , rain+++ and very cold. What a great start to 2004 !

Well, in Sydney it's midsummer and the temperature yesterday was over 30 Celsius - the harbor (before sunset) featured gorgeous blue skies. But it would be rather a long way to go for New Year's Eve. Sorry to hear about the bad weather in Edinburgh (always well known for New Year's Eve) and Aberdeen. Incognitus

A Happy, Healthy, and Blessed New Year to all and may God grant each of you many more years.

Incognitus Yeah - well if high winds are affecting the staging and guards and techies are injured then they were right to cancel it - now of course there is the somewhat dangerous problem of dismantling all the fireworks :p Not for nothing is Edinburgh called the windy city here - it's all the streets that just funnel it Pity about Aberdeen though - I think it was the first time they were trying a street party. Glasgow's party went ahead just wet and cold - but by the time they have a few 'swallys' no one would notice

Since when in Glasgow do they need a reason for a street party (with Belhaven etc. on tap) ? Happy and Blessed New Year!
