On the one hand, it is a great relief that he is no longer able to commit his particular brand of evil and continue to attempt to breed a religious civil war. I am sure others will try to fill the void, but for the time being, at least, the enemy is in some chaos.

On the other hand, my reaction was to pray for him. It is frankly tragic, sick and broken when a man who has been given many talents - and this was a man who was quite arguably given many talents - chooses to apply them to evil. That he used his talents for evil and dared to pass it off to unwashed, frustrated, militant young men as the will of God is even chilling. This "cleric" was a bad shepherd.

Fortunately for all of mankind, our God's justice is perfect and his mercy is infinite.
