Yes, Cheese Week is one reason a number of people here seem to get "cheesed off." smile

It is the Sunday before the beginning of the Great Fast, the Sunday of Forgiveness.

It's called that to underscore that not even dairy products are allowed during Lent (the week before is called "Meatfare week" for the same reason)

Our Church slowly eases us into the bearable misery of the Lenten fast . . . wink
