Apologies to everyone - my absence for the past few weeks has been an involuntary consequence of computer woes. The computer has now been healed (I trust) of its ailments. Hope that everyone has managed to hold up while I was off line. Incognitus

Good to see you back! The mysterious absence of a "regular" from the board does, indeed, cause one to wonder and hope all is well... glad to hear it is! I, too, have been gone a lot as of late, with more yet to come. Spent all last week on business in New Jersey... managing to sneak in a little bit of "board time" today (Saturday), and then it's back off to NJ tomorrow for another week. The town I'm working in (Lodi, NJ) is not far at all from Passaic - I tried unsuccessfully to squeeze in a visit to the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel... I'm looking forward to trying again this coming week - wish me luck! a pilgrim

Incognitus , Welcome back. I thought you had gone off to the Millenium celebration at Grottaferatta. Many years, Neil, watching to see if Incognitus' 1300th post is lucky

Incognitus I know the feeling - my computer was sick before I went at the end of August and from my return it got sicker and sicker till at the beginning of last week it collapsed every 4 mins Eventually on Friday night it had a transplant = a new Operating system and now is just like new - and there are more bells and whistles too Let us hope that the Patron Saint of Computers will look after these creatures on which we all rely . His feast is April 4th. See: Saint Isidore of Seville [ catholic-forum.com] and you can get a statue of him, made to sit on your monitor, at: Catholic Mart [ catholicmart.com] Many years, Neil

Welcome back incognitus! St. Isidore must have received a special crown in heaven to take on the patronage of computers and computer users too? Maybe St Isidore should delegate that to St Jude, patron of impossible cases (particularly in matters of my speliing) God bless, Paul

Dear Incognitus, Believe it or not, you crossed my mind yesterday! Welcome back, even if it isn't from some far away religious locale this time! You might note, that a while ago there was a thread on the Prayer section, where we were wondering where all our 'old poster friends' had gone, and you were, ofcourse, among those listed. So Please make sure that your computer behaves from now on! With love in Christ, Alice

"Σώσον, Κύριε, καί διαφύλαξον ηάς από τών Βασιλιάνικων τάξεων! " Save us, O Master, and protect us from the Imperial Class! So I take it you are not a fan of the 'Imperial class' or of the monarchy? Alice, who is most confused by these cryptic messages in Greek....

Maybe it's "...from (those of) the Basilian Order"?

Ah, the prodigal Incognitus has returned. Bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast...

Thanks to everyone; it's nice to be welcome. I'm heartily in favour of the fatted calf and a new suit of clothes. However, I don't wear a ring. Now please ask Saint Isidore of Seville to keep this computer going! Sorry - I couldn't manage Grottaferratta. Incognitus

Alice, Why didn't I see any Greek letters around the venues during the Athens Olympics? Every sign I saw was in English. Paul
