A 70th annual pilgrimage to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is listed on the calender of Srs. of St. Basil. Does anyone know where this is, or if this is a retreat center, shrine, church, or something else? Has anyone out there actually been on this pilgrimage? Would a RC be comfortable, that is a RC who is longing for things Byzantine, but doesn't know all the ins and outs yet? By the way, do they have pews? Thanks for your help!

The reference is to the annual pilgrimage at Mount Saint Macrina, Uniontown, Pensylvania, over the Labor Day weekend - and Roman Catholics are certainly welcome (they may enjoy the novel experience of being a small minority in a huge crowd of Byzantine Catholics). Advice: book a motel room in or near Uniontown for that weekend as soon as possible.

Hi Still, Small Voice...

Uniontown is in southwestern Pennsylvania, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh and about 30 miles north of Morgantown,WVA.

Oh, yes, they do have pews as well as benches, lawn chairs, camp chairs and people who stand too....

come and join us!

Anything to do with OLPH is great for RCs. My Roman Catholic parish is actually Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and the OLPH Icon is to the right of the altar (Icon of the Sacred Heart is on the left).
