Look here friends. This is one of the calmest forums I have ever had the privilege being on. I do not understand why Alex feels it necessary to make some dramatic effort to leave every few weeks and then comes back only to make another dramatic departure.

My dear friend Alex, please, stop doing this. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I don't know why the two Daniels are considered to be uncharitable. We tolerated a Muslim named Axios who seemed always to be attacking. We did this a few months ago. The forum is still here. No one died from the interchange.

I like this forum. I've never been of the opinion that this or that person has been unfairly treated.

I think some people may be way too thinned skinned but most seem well balanced and seeking a holy life.

If anyone ever posted to me on a PM with some negative comment I'd simply deal with it and move along.

I don't get why people come and go and perform these dramatic activities on this forum pretending that the world is out to get them.

For heaven's sakes people. This is a discussion board. For the most part we don't even really know each other. Enjoy the ride and cut the melodrama, please.

It's a waste of bandwidth. It serves no purpose. frown

Ok?

Dan Lauffer

Daniel,

I didn't think your statement was uncharitable. Compared to some of the chatter (by good people) in my office you could be considered a holy saint. A forum member told me yesterday that they didn't like my response to their question, and I'm still not sure why. Life is like that. I do agree that given Alex's sense of humour (he does have one - that' good) he should have found a funny retort. Alternately, he could have just ignored you or sent you a private message. And yes, there are probably just as many people who like him as those who would like to see him go. This is pretty much how life is in ANY social setting so perhaps you should not be so judgemental in this regard.

Administrator,

It can't be easy being the ref here in 'kindergarden forum'. Although I think Alex got off easy for his pre-Christmas comment (only 3 weeks) I also believe that this site 'kinda' became dull when he was away. Yes he does draw people into his web of confrontation, drama, and intrigue, but let's face it - that's how we learn and that's why many of us tune in biggrin When I read Archimandrite Gregory's postings I know I'm hearing the words of saint to be. I would not want his posts to be any other way. When I read Alex's posts, I don't care to hear saintly words. I can say that many of us are learning (with joy) about our faith and the many ways in which it is expressed through his posts. Bumping him out of the forum ain't a good idea. Let's work on making him a better person and keep the forum as lively as possible.

Alex,

Clearly you took great pride in your work and were offended by a members remarks. This behaviour is typical of creative people. I'm not saying this in a negative way, quite the contrary. Next time sleap on it rather than quit. The next day just ignore the commnents you don't like. This is exactly what I have done and it seems to have worked well for me. I'm sure others have done the same in regards to my posts.

That's how I understood it and it isn't as if there aren't other avenues in which to channel one's energies, even someone so obviously reprehensible as myself, than this forum.

I've sinned many a time, and I have many limitations.

But I know when I've outstayed my welcome.

Alex,

since you feel the need to reference in public our private correspondence, I will respond in kind.

As I read your response to Daniel's first comment on the now closed topic, you made reference to the counsel of your Spiritual Father regarding your activity on this forum. That reference has since been deleted from your post. I merely suggested that you follow his counsel. As the Administrator has stated you are a member in good standing and your privileges have not been revoked by anyone here. Anyone is certainly free to follow or disregard the spiritual counsel of their staretz .

To all concerned about Alex's standing:

To underscore what the Administrator has said, no one here has banished Alex from cyber space.

Since the point of this topic is moot, I am closing it.
