I thought I would post this for those of you who mentioned it a few weeks ago. I have removed the Christmas tree from its spot on my coffee table, and have put it away in honor of Holy Week - new calendar, of course. biggrin It only seems appropriate, don't you think? wink biggrin

LOL!

It is about time, and JUST in time! smile

I hope that you have a delicious chocolate bunny around to eat on Easter, and now that the tree is down, you should color some Easter eggs! (As these holiday 'decorations' are all edible, there is no fear that they will be around until Christmas time! LOL!!!! wink )

Congratulations Charles biggrin biggrin

I know that it has caused you much pain and suffering to actually physically remove that Christmas tree.

Well done

I have chocolate bunnies, chocolate eggs, chocolate milk, chocolate coffee, you name it. If it's chocolate, I have it somewhere. I will have to be careful and not get chocolate on the organ keys when I play for all those Easter masses - Easter Vigil and 4 morning masses. biggrin Also, I have a collection of plastic bunnies for decoration. I will have to remember to put them away before Advent. wink

Dear Angela,

Your church is very cool! cool

I once attended a Greek Orthodox church for the Resurrection Liturgy that in the end handed out chocolate bunnies to EVERYONE, children and adults! smile smile smile

Most of our churches also hand out a dyed red Easter egg wrapped in a little tulle and tied with a little red ribbon! smile

( Little gifts really do bring out the child in all of us, don't they? )

In Christ,
Alice

They not only bring out the child in us, but these little gifts can be the acts of kindness that are remembered fondly. They could even be the something that will draw someone into the Church.

Charles:

Next to come down should be those Valentine cards, roses/flowers, and chocolates!

Oh, they remain displayed forever? wink

Charles, given the acute spiritual anguish that taking down your tree has caused you, perhaps next year you might consider leaving it up, but changing its decorations to Easter eggs. Pysanyky are very nice for this.... :p

Now there's a thought. wink Actually, I like Christmas trees. I remember reading that the silent film star, Harold Lloyd, kept a large Christmas tree in his mansion to enjoy year round. I saw a picture of his and it was huge. My tree, however, was rather modest and sat atop a table.
