Pani,
I cannot get the page to open for me. Many months back, I downloaded the chat software and was unable to get it working. I attributed it to lack of participation at the time, but now I am pulling up a 404 Page Not Found error.

Ok All, Christ is Risen!

The bid is in and confirmed. We are currently the high bidder. Just for those who want to follow it, the bid is under the name of "Greek Abbot".

Now, what we need is the prayers of all!

Also for those interested, I have been contacted and have agreed to consider a monastery in Long Island under the Patriarchate of Jerusalem for placement of the Evangelion if the bid is won. They have agreed to accept the donation.

In the Risen Christ,
Father Anthony+

This is very nice to see. Actually, I have been doing this on my own for a few years. I have saved a Plaschanitsa, 3 chalice sets, priest and deacon vestments and numerous icons, all of which have been donated to missions. Maybe a fraternal rescue organization might be worth considering, with all assets distributed to mission parishes?

Dear Alexandr, Christ is Risen!

It is actually being set up as we speak. It will just take a couple weeks to get all the official paperwork from the goverment. In the meantime, time is of the essence and we are going ahead with the bids.

In the Risen Christ!

I would agree there, Alexandr. I think missions, monastic communities, schools and extant parishes (not extinct!) would be worthy recipients (both Orthodox and Catholic).

Alexandr "

A great idea! perhaps we could also start a Fraternal Organization for the purpose of starting Mission Parishes. I have never encountered a Byzantine Catholic Mission, though I know of one or 2, far far away. I think that only donating assets to Missions is a bad idea however. I feel that this particular Evangelion would best be donated to a Seminary or Monastery will it more likely be used for study, etc.

Agreed! I merely stated mission parishes as it has been my experience that those are the ones in greatest need. I am in agreement on sending the Evangelion to a monastery or seminary where it will be used.

Alexandr, who fondly remembers having Church services in a 2 car detached garage with everything being donated.

Dear Wondering the link is working now. Jason had forgotten to upload it to his new server. Here it is on my store if you want to see it there.

That worked! It shows another user on, but she is apparently away from the computer. Perhaps I'll catch you sometime...

So far, we are still the only bidder. Keep praying!

Father Anthony,

It isn't in the days before that one need to worry, but the minutes. I think it is helpful that your account was used so that others might be deterred seeing that a religious has already bid on it. My prayers are with you and the evangelion!

I have a paypal account if needed for payment. However, I am seriously lacking funds at this time (in the process of looking for work), so I would need contributions for the total cost to pay the bill. Just an offer. And if the tiem is won, I will ensure it is sent as directed.

We won!

I have just been notified that that we have won. For those that have pledged please contact me.

I will be making the payment as promised from my credit card. As soon as it is received and the evangelion can be placed, I will try to get a photo of the actual handing over of it to the recipient and place it here for all to see.
