Dear Friends,
With everyone's permission, I would like to start a thread here that would be like a petition to ask Serge to return to this Forum.
Please feel free to write your own message to tell Serge how much we love him and miss him.
I'll begin my own message in the form of a Russian tale:
"In the darkness of the night, where mankind groups for some kind of light, a beacon appears from on high, casting its shining rays left and right, bringing warmth and hope to all who dare share in its heart, mind and soul.
"What did we come out to see in the wilderness, o people? We came, drawn by mighty words cutting like a two-edged sword, wielded by a man, forthright and sacred.
"A man who comes in the Name of the Lord, a messenger of Orthodoxy, who brings not the peace that muffles, but the unsettling sword of truth.
"And we were privileged to drink deeply from the waters of the well he dug with his own hands.
"And we thirst now, for more of his nourishment, distraught as one who loses a Father.
"St Sergius' namesake, embodying his spirit and flame, O Serge, recall thy mission, remember thy children!
"Forgive unkindness, forget error, forego thy righteous wrath!
"Come back to our embrace, O Father Serge, return unto us thy wisdom great!
"Remember not our sins, Mentor in Christ, recall only thy mission and why thou was sent!
"Come back, we cry, return unto us, we beg.
"May God be with you, He by Whom first to us you were sent!"
Alex

I too would like to see Serge return to the forum. But...... I understand his reasoning for leaving and the thought has crossed my mind to leave also. A certain person here on the forum has accused me publicly here, and though private email, of calling him a "troll", which I have never done. I have not called anyone names here. It has appeared that certain people/elements have come here in an attemp to bull-rush us and get rid of those they do not like, and if that doesn't work then they attempt to out yell them. It has gotten to be where coming to the forum is no longer fun and I am not really learning much any more. Ah, for the good old days before the server crash.... No, troll, I want EEMs replaced with priests, deacons and men in minor orders. http://oldworldrus.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree with Serge 110% here! Even a modest 100% agreement would include the troll comment. David, this forum allows you to edit your post if you would like to revise it to modify your statement to only agree with the first sentence. Kurt [ 01-22-2002: Message edited by: Kurt ]

Dear Serge,
I miss that little row of question marks marching across my screen !
I know I can't read 'em - or the original language even if I could - but they were part of this Forum - like you.
I miss you - PLEASE return - and I need your help
Angela

Being a new member of the Forum, I pressumed that Serge had gone on vacation or something. hearing that he will not return is a shock!
Serge, you must return and share your knowledge with us! Who will write comments in proper Russian? Who will make comments of "whoop @s$" and "Patriarch Lubomyr" in the same sentence? Please come back!!!

I think Serge has spent enough time in the woodshed. Let him come back, hopefully with a little humility and a lot of love.

Brother Serge:
I hope you come back soon so I don't have to change my name to Simeon (although that's not a bad name either).
God Bless you!
your brother, Stefan-Ivan

Ilya we welcome you. We are glad you can also use Russian. We look forward to reading your messages. I should add on my own behalf, those that are in English! However I think we are all realising how much we do need Serge. I for one miss him and long to see him return, and I suspect that many others do. Phil, I can't quote in Russian either, so do you really think I would want to get rid of you [ 01-25-2002: Message edited by: Our Lady's slave of love ]

You Anglophones certainly have a place here.
As long as you continue to know your place . . .
Love y'a, Guys, just love y'a!
