Hi everyone! Could you all please list Rusyn names for girls? I am aware of the traditional manner of naming the first daughter Mary, second Anna, and third Helen, but my friend wants more "variety".
Any suggestions?

That is interesting. Though our first and third children are boys, #2 is a girl and we named her Ann.

WOOPS! That wasn't the site I wanted! (I was looking up some ultrasound pics for a school project and pasted it by accident!) THIS http://www.carpatho-rusyn.org/crs/rnames.htm is the site I intended to put. Dave

I have heard the name "Afija" read in Hramoty; I suppose it is the same name.
I don't know where it comes from, but that might be an alternate spelling.

"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."

Anastasios Anastasios, And remember, middle names NOT! The first name IS the Baptismal-Chrismation name, and it is also the reason why we address our pastors and bishops with them and not their surname. Joe
