The top of the page was already filled out with a birth date (not mine) and at the end I was rather startled to see what I guess was the 'sample' result 'death from cancer at age 77' with a drawing of a guy that said 'you have better than average energy' or some such like Dr. Eric's results reported.
It gave me moment's startled reaction since I wasn't expecting to see a result having not taken the thing...

That's probably because I sent the copy of the link directly from the results of my test.

I wonder if I could have a longer life span if I didn't have so many accidents. If the kids would pick up their toys, I wouldn't be stepping on them and kicking things in the middle of the night! mad I bet that would get me a few more years! :p

As far as this being appropriate: First this is Town Hall for anything that doesn't fit the above categories. Second, if people knew how much longer they had they might start making a few changes to live longer and/or start taking their spiritual lives more seriously and start trying to progress in theosis more rigorously.

I have used up 40% of my life according to the quiz, have I accomplished 40% of my goals already? NO! Am I 40% Holy as St. John the Baptist? NO! I'm going to have to work even harder to do all the things I want to do. Remember that there are Saints who died in their teens and early 20s, I think that most of us have a lot of work to do yet and this might be the thing that wakes some of us up.

I do agree w/you about the 'wake up call' and apologize as I tried to delete my posts last night but it was too late.
I have PM'd you Dr. Eric about what troubled me in particular, but I agree that the concept of realizing we haven't done what we want spiritually speaking is something we must face.

Somehow, I think to live longer one must:

Not sweat the small stuff - it's all small stuff, anyway.
Be positive.
Have more dark chocolate, great wine, and good tea.
Don't participate in internet polls or quizzes.
Stay away from lab rats - they always seem to have cancer. biggrin

I think to live to the fullest life has to offer one must PRAY!

I am not afraid of death, neither am I concerned about it. However, there are a great many people out there, who upon doing something like this, will take it too seriously. If one is not balanced enough to withstand the throws of life, reading something like this can put a spot in their mind that they may not be able to pass.

For spiritual reasons, I can see how something like this could allow a very opressive spirit to overcome someone.

I find no humor in it at all mad !

Personally, I found nothing offensive in this particular poll.

However, I did just notice (only because of C of S's post) that there were some other polls at that site that were indeed extremely offensive.

In any case, getting back to the poll at hand, I found it no more serious than the excessive amount of articles one reads in magazines and newspapers on how to live longer. It included all the same ideas: your close relative's cause of death, your vices, your diet, your exersize, etc.

What I did not like was the title. Other than that, I really learned nothing new. It was like a visit to the doctor. I know my risks. When it is my time to go, I will go, despite what all the research says! Until then, I will try my best to live as healthfully and responsibly as I can for the sake of my family.

I do not think that Dr. Eric meant any harm in posting it. I am sorry that some of our posters took such offense in it.

Since they have, however, I will be sensitive to their feelings and I will close this thread and because of the other polls that one might potentially encounter there, I will also delete the link.

Sorry Dr. Eric. We know that you are a sweetheart and that you only have our good health at heart! smile

Love to all-
