Welcome Student. I hope you can go to the mission recommended by Byz. When you go I hope you can meet him and tell me about him. He and I find ourselves in agreement on most things.

Welcome! Please feel free to ask questions!

Gaudior, who also frequently agrees with Dan and ByzanTN!

Gaudior,

You speak truly. The "Church Militant" location makes me think of the Russian ambassors' comment made after visiting Hagia Sophia "We did not know whether we were in heaven or on earth". I think when attending divine liturgy I think I could say "Church Triumphant" as easily as "Church Militant".

I agree, re: feeling transported by the Divine Liturgy...but I post from my struggles after coming back to earth!

Gaudior, who tries desperately to keep that "Church Triumphant" feeling going!

Peter,

Welcome to the Forum!

I like your location, Church Militant. More soldiers for Christ are needed in the battle for souls.

Gaudior, I recognize you as a militant-action kind of guy too.

Could I call you two, Christian "action figures?" wink

Christ is our peace.

Peter,

Welcome to the Forum.

An excellent and concise, though comprehensive, source for information online is the website of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) [cnewa.org] and, for specific questions, here of course.

Keep in mind that the term "Byzantine Catholic" as it is commonly used in the US usually refers to Eastern Catholics of the Byzantine Rite who belong to the Ruthenian Catholic Church. In its broader sense, "Byzantine Catholic" refers to Eastern Catholics who belong to any of the 14 Eastern Catholic Churches sui iuris that use the Byzantine Rite in their worship.

Note, too, that not all Eastern Catholics use the Byzantine Rite; there are 22 Eastern Catholic Churches sui iuris; among them, there are 6 different Rites used.

Many years,

Neil

Alright alright, don't be so picky. Tell me again the distinction, please.

Dear Dan...

The ambassadors were sent by Prince Volodymyr of Kyiv...(Ukraine).

I suspect there might be SOME on this forum who may, JUST MAY, consider the difference significant enough to wish to transport the user of RUSSIAN in that context to the Church Triumphant

How did the interview go, by the way?

Gaudior, changing the subject wink

Sorry, gentlemen, no offense meant.

Gaudior,

The interviews went wonderfully. Thanks for asking. I think Father and I tend to feed off of each other. He commented on the radio how much he appreciates my occassional hearty "Amens" when he preaches.

Much joy.

Dan,

Very pleased that it went so well! It is a wonderful thing when you get a good dynamic going!

Gaudior, who hopes the interview touches many

Dan,

Glory to Jesus Christ!

We all appreciate your "hearty amens" at Divine Liturgy. We're all thinking "Amen" -- you just say it.

John
